Jellies!

I have a two hour day so far today! Hopefully, it goes to a school closure!

Jellyfish Project Update!!!

I Emailed Alex Andon (Jellyfish Art Creator) about some questions:
I've been raising fish for about eight or so years and I stumbled upon your site... I had a few questions though.

First, I've read a lot ab
out blue blubber jellyfish being hard to keep in a home aquarium for over 60 days. Have you proven otherwise?

Second, about the moon jellies in the desktop tank, moon jellies grow to about 12". That's the size of the desktop tank... How can I expect to keep them in there when they grow up? Or, will the tank make them stay the same size?

Third, is the desktop aquarium just a Biorb aquarium with their saltwater kit, or have you messed with them to make them suitable.

I love your works and am seriously considering the desktop aquarium!
Thanks...

|Hi Nathan,

Thanks for your kind words and your interest in the Desktop Tank. The Blue Jellyfish (Catostylus mosaicus) can be difficult to keep alive and healthy
In a personal aquarium. That is why we made the switch to 2-inch diameter Moon Jellies for the Desktop Tank. Moon Jellies are much more hardy and have a more mellow swimming pace, so this is now the only species we offer for the Desktop Tank.

You're correct, Moon Jellies can grow to the size of a baskeball. However you can control the growth of a jellyfish by controlling its food intake. If it is growing too fast, you simply cut back on the amount of food you give it and its growth rate will level off.

The Desktop Jellyfish Tank is a BiOrb with a few modifications and accessories we add. We sell all these accessories at market prices together in one package, so it's not like we are just calling a BiOrb a jellyfish tank and charging extra for it.

Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks again for contacting us.

- Alex
